Our Story

At Chewzzle, we believe that dogs deserve more than just treats and belly rubs — they deserve to be mentally challenged, emotionally fulfilled, and endlessly entertained.

Our journey began not in a lab or marketing office, but on the living room floor with a rescue pup named Max — a high-energy border collie mix with a love for chewing, digging, and problem-solving (sometimes in that order). Like many dog owners, we quickly realized that walks and bones weren’t enough. Max was smart — too smart — and needed more than physical activity. He needed mental stimulation.

That sparked the beginning of Chewzzle.

The Problem We Saw

After years of working in pet retail and training circles, we noticed a gap in the dog toy market. Most toys were either flimsy, boring, or purely for physical play. We watched dogs — especially intelligent breeds — become bored, anxious, or even destructive due to a lack of mental engagement.

We did our research. Studies from veterinary behaviorists and animal psychologists confirmed what we’d seen firsthand: dogs thrive when mentally stimulated. Dogs with daily enrichment are more focused, better behaved, and less prone to anxiety and stress. Simple food puzzles could reduce separation anxiety. Interactive toys could curb excessive chewing. In short: smart dogs need smart play.

That’s when the idea hit us: what if we designed a line of dog toys that combined mental stimulation, slow feeding, and durable, safe materials — all while being fun and joyful?

From Living Room to Launch

We spent months prototyping, testing with local pet owners, and sourcing materials we’d feel good giving to our own dogs. We worked with behaviorists, trainers, and everyday pet parents to refine our designs. And yes — Max was our Chief Product Tester, giving his (very enthusiastic) approval to each new idea.

We wanted Chewzzle toys to be more than functional. We wanted them to feel intentional, designed with love and backed by research — built for dogs and trusted by humans.
